Huynh Wins 2007 Nash Award
On June 7, 2007, Thomas Huynh was awarded the 2007 Winona D. Nash Award by the Lawrence Historical Society. Huynh (left) is seen here receiving his award from Board member John Halvorsen at Lawrence High School's annual Senior Awards Night. Huynh won the award for his demonstrated excellence in history studies, as judged by the history department at Lawrence High School. He will be attending George Washington University in the fall. In addition to the scholarship prize, Huynh received a copy of Gordon S. Wood's book Revolutionary Characters. Nash was a longtime advocate for Lawrence history, helping found LHS in 1975 and spending 14 years as Lawrence Township Historian before pasing away in 2002. |
