On June 25, 1834, the Delaware & Raritan Canal openned for business, providing a shipping lane connecting Philadelphia and New York. This year, several groups along the canal are celebrating it's rich history with events and other special programs. Lawrence Historical Society is planning several events throughout the year and will post updates here and on the individual event pages. Please also take the time to go to the D&R Canal State Park website to see what other events are being offered around the state.
